Tuesday's Results

If you read this blog, you likely know that on Tuesday we had a campaign to try to get Vantagepoints on Learning and Life to #1 at Amazon.com. (Here is the announcement).

We didn't make #1, but we came close. We peaked at #5 on the Motivational Best Seller List. We peaked at #8 on the Self Help List. We remained in the top 10 on both lists for about 30 hours.

We have one partner doing an announcement today, so we may have another "bump" in the numbers.

Overall, while we didn't reach #1 on any of the lists, with the help of my amazing cadre of contributors, colleagues and friends, it went well.

Thanks to all of them (you can see all of them here - just scroll down) and thanks to you too.

Two Recent Interviews

I've been interviewed in the last week or so by a couple of folks about issues relating to Learning and Life... because of the book.

You can read my posts on my other blog about them here and here.

I think you will enjoy them.

Today's the Day!

... or it will be by the time you might read this. March 28th, with the help of an amazing group of colleagues and friends, I hope to make Vantagepoints on Learning and Life an Amazon #1 Best Seller.

Among the many bonuses and gifts available to people buying the book during this promotion, I think I am most excited by our Virtual Book Signing.

I know of only one other book (there may of course be others) that had a chat room for people to converse with the author on the day of a book's release. But as far as I know, no one has combined that with a way for people to get their book signed by the author "virtually".

When you buy your book during this promotion, you will be directed to a link to enter your name and address and I will send you a bookplate signed and inscribed specifically for you. About the time your book arrives, your bookplate will arrive and you will have a signed book.

I look forward to signing a bookplate for you and hopefully "seeing" you online.

I'll will probably be in the virtual book signing room much of the day on the 28th, but there are specific times you can be guaranteed to find me: 10am, 2pm, and 9pm ET and again on March 30 at 3pm and 9pm.

For all the information on the promotion, go HERE.

Strengths or Weaknesses?

EM Sky has been reading Vantagepoints and posted today about her reflections on the chapter, "Heads or Tails". In her post on her Mind Unbound Blog, she shares a fabulous example of how two people with different talents and predispositions can make a great team.

It is a well written and very valuable look at how we can leverage strengths to form a more effective team. I highly encourage you to read it!

Interviewed on a Podcast

Rick Beneteau interviewed me for his podcast released this morning on MentorAudio.com

I talked about the value and power of reflection. Reflection is in large part what Vantagepoints on Learning and Life is about. This interview allows me to talk about some of the barriers that keep us from reflecting and some things we can do to be more effective each day.

I think you will enjoy it. You can hear it here.

A New Promotion Coming

If you haven't yet purchased your copy of Vantagepoints on Learning and Life... wait until March 28th.

Why?

Because on that day we will be doing a promotion to make the book an Amazon bestseller... and you will get a set of amazing bonus gifts if you buy your copy(s) that day.

More information is coming soon, but trust me, you'll be glad you waited!

Be a Giver and a Taker

My friend Stacy Brice, in her Virtual Moxie blog commented on the Smile chapter in Vantagepoints recently. You can read her post here.

Her point is that we are at our best when we are willing to give to others AND able to ask others for what we need in a gracious way.

Here is her final paragraph:

In this life there are givers and there are takers. Too few are both. Be both. Take what help you need to grow and develop your own business, and never hesitate to share with another. You don't grow weaker by helping someone else; by giving someone else's wagon a push. Instead, your acting from abundance makes everyone that much stronger, and the profession that much more solid.

This reflection is exactly why I write Vantagepoints each month and published the book. Stacy has read and reflected on what I wrote and the lessons I drew from the situation, then found other lessons that are valuable to her - and because she shared her reflections - valuable to many others.

That is how expansive learning from everyday situations can be when we observe, reflect and share,

Thanks for sharing Stacy.
